The Hewlett/IIE Dissertation Fellowship in Population, Reproductive Health, and Economic Development provides both financial and research development support for dissertations on topics that examine how population dynamics and family planning, and reproductive health influence economic development. This can include economic growth, poverty reduction, and equity. Dissertations that address population and development issues pertinent to the African continent are especially encouraged

The Africa Programme of the University for Peace (UPEACE) has secured funding from The Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to offer a limited number of scholarships to African students registered in PhD Programmes focused on Governance and Security Studies. The programme is seeking applications from candidates who have freshly enrolled in a PhD Programme or who can offer proof of acceptance into a PhD Programme at a University in Sub Saharan Africa for the 2011-2012 Academic Year. A total of four (4) PhD Fellowships will be awarded

China Scholarschip Council (CSC) Leiden University Joint scholarship Program 2012-2013

This scholarship is for Chinese PhD students, who will take a full PhD study or a period of PhD dissertation research at Leiden University. The CSC scholarship for a period of PhD dissertation research at Leiden University can on be applied for in the first round. All programs can be applied for, as long as the department/faculty/graduate school you’re applying to is willing to waive all tuition fees and research fees
