In 2011 the Prize will be awarded to an individual or institution regarding the Respect for difference and inter-cultural, inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue.The Calouste Gulbenkian International Prize will distinguish an individual or institution whose thoughts or actions make a decisive contribution to and have significant impact on understanding, defending or fostering the universal values of the human condition, with particular reference to the following:

Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers from Developing Countries

Deadline: Anytime

Submit an application if you are a researcher from abroad with above average qualifications, at the beginning of your academic career and only completed your doctorate in the last four years. A Georg Forster Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers allows you to carry out a long-term research project (6−24 months) you have selected yourself in cooperation with an academic host you have selected yourself at a research institution in Germany

Global South Scholar-In-Residence PostDoctoral Programme

Deadlines: March 1st and October 1st

The Institute is pleased to welcome academics from Africa, Asia and Latin America for a period of one semester. Candidates are invited to apply to the programme. Successful applicants will be able to take advantage of their period in residence to update their teaching curricula, participate in teaching courses, further their research projects and contribute to enriching the intellectual life of the Institute. Priority will be given to university teachers with a preference for women and junior academics who will seek to apply the benefits of their stay at the Institute upon returning to their own institutions.
