The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Middle East Program are pleased to announce the 2012 competition for the Woodrow Wilson Center's Visiting Arab Journalist Program. One journalist from the Middle East/North Africa region will be selected each year for the duration of the grant. Successful applicants will spend three months in residence at the Woodrow Wilson Center, in the heart of Washington, D.C., where they will carry out their own policy-oriented research and writing.

 
Kurt Hansen Scholarships for Foreign Applicants

Application for a Kurt Hansen scholarship is open to students studying to be educators in the field of science. Key support areas include study projects, internships, summer courses, preparatory and supplementary study courses and theses. Assistance is also available for projects aimed at improving the training of science teachers. The foundation places great emphasis on internationalism, and therefore grants scholarships exclusively to students from German-speaking countries wishing to study abroad and foreign applicants who want to study in Germany

 
Carl Duisberg scholarships for Foreign Student in Human Medicine and veterinary medicine

Application for a Carl Duisberg scholarship is open to students specializing in human medicine und veterinary medicine undergoing a clinical traineeship or in their practice year who would like to take part in scientific projects or continue their education at a prominent institution. The foundation places great emphasis on internationalism, and therefore grants scholarships exclusively to students from German-speaking countries wishing to study abroad and foreign applicants who want to study in Germany

 
The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) PhD Fellowships 2012-2013

               Full submission July 15, 2012.

CARTA is currently offering a collaborative doctoral training program in public and population health. This program has been developed in response to the great challenges faced by Africa’s institutions of higher education in addressing the training and retention of the next generation of academics in the region. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. CARTA has also reserved a small number of scholarships specifically for doctoral students conducting research on issues of sexuality and reproductive health and rights. During the 2012/2013 academic year, the CARTA program is planning to offer up to 25 PhD fellowships. The Fellowship is tenable at one of the participating African universities

 
Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine

This scheme strengthens scientific research capacity in low- and middle-income countries, by providing support for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Masters degree level. Research projects should be aimed at understanding and controlling diseases (either human or animal) of relevance to local, national or global health. We are particularly interested in requests for research training support in the social sciences, demography, health economics, medical statistics and vector biology.

 
IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for Students from Developing Countries, 2012

IDRC offers these awards twice a year to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing their doctoral studies at a Canadian university. These awards are intended for field research in one or more developing countries. Candidates must conduct their research in areas corresponding to IDRC's research priorities.

 
International PhD Programme 2012 by the “la Caixa”/CNIO in Biomedical Sciences, Madrid, Spain

In 2008 "la Caixa" Foundation launched a scholarship programme to offer interdisciplinary training and research opportunities to outstanding young graduate students of any nationality to pursue a PhD project at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). The "la Caixa"/CNIO international PhD programme offers cross-disciplinary training in state-of-the-art basic and applied cancer research within an international scientific environment. Ten fully funded four year fellowships will be available in 2012. Candidates should have an excellent academic track record, a solid knowledge of English and previous research experience
