University of Pavia: CICOPS Research Scholarships

CICOPS Scholarships are now being accepted for 2013. Academics and other researchers from developing countries who wish to carry out research in collaboration with a professor at the University of Pavia are welcome to apply. Applicants must have the support of a collaborator at the University of Pavia. Technical-Scientific Committee of CICOPS approved a scholarship project aimed at fostering research collaboration between academics from developing countries and the University of Pavia.

Tallinn University: Undergraduate Scholarships for International Applicants

Deadline: 1 July 2012

Every year Tallinn University gives up to 5 scholarships to BA level applicants who have graduated from secondary school outside of Estonia with remarkable results. Both Estonian citizens and international applicants are eligible to apply. In order to apply you have to send a Letter of Motivation where you explain why would you be a good candidate for the scholarship. Decision will be made by the Admission Commission on the 24 July. Successful candidates will be informed by the International Student Adviser

University of Edinburgh: The Calum Miller Scholarship for Foreign Students
Deadlines - May 2012

Deadline: 31 May 2012

The scholarships are open to applicants who have an excellent academic record and who are applying for admission onto the Full-time MBA or MBA in International Business in September 2012. An award may be withdrawn if a student fails to meet the academic standards set by the University. the scholarships will only be awarded to applicants who have firmly accepted their offer through payment of the deposit. Applicants who hold full sponsorships are not eligible for the scholarship. 

Quota Scheme Scholarships for Students from Developing Countries

The Norwegian government provides students from developing countries in the South and countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and in Central Asia with financial support to study for a degree in Norway under the Quota Scheme. The main objective of the Quota Scheme is to contribute to capacity building through education that will benefit the home country of the students when they return. The Quota Scheme is also intended to strengthen relations between Norway and the selected countries and thus contribute to internationalisation at Norwegian institutions of higher education.

Wageningen University: Anne van den Ban Scholarship Fund for Students from Developing Countries

The Anne van den Ban Scholarship Fund is named after Dr. Ir. Anne van den Ban, former Professor of Rural Extension at Wageningen University. The fund was founded in 1992 by two Wageningen alumni. The scholarship fund enables promising students from developing countries to study at Wageningen University. As a result, it contributes to the education of competent and motivated local experts, who can then play a leading role in solving the structural problems of their country in agricultural production, rural development and the environment.

Ragnar Nurkse scholarship for Foreign MA candidates

All foreign candidates for the MA programme are encouraged to apply for the Ragnar Nurkse scholarship. The scholarship, will be financed through the budget of TUT Department of Public Administration and it will be awarded to a student who will start his/her studies at the MA in Technology Governance programme in the academic year 2012/2013.

University of Edinburgh PhD Scholarships in Accounting and Finance

The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) PhD Fellowships 2012-2013

Deadline: for initial April 15, 2012
               Full submission July 15, 2012.

CARTA is currently offering a collaborative doctoral training program in public and population health. This program has been developed in response to the great challenges faced by Africa’s institutions of higher education in addressing the training and retention of the next generation of academics in the region. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. CARTA has also reserved a small number of scholarships specifically for doctoral students conducting research on issues of sexuality and reproductive health and rights. During the 2012/2013 academic year, the CARTA program is planning to offer up to 25 PhD fellowships. The Fellowship is tenable at one of the participating African universities

Bournemouth University : Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme

This scholarship, offered in conjunction with the UK Government, is offered to students from developing Commonwealth countries who have applied to study a full-time taught postgraduate (Masters) degree at BU and who can demonstrate they already have an outstanding academic and personal profile. Application is online through the Electronic Application System on the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme website

EARTH University Undergraduate Scholarships
Deadlines - April 2012

Deadline: April 30, 2012

The Open Society Foundations, in collaboration with EARTH University, provide five four-year undergraduate scholarships for Haitian students and five for students from Liberia and Sierra Leone to study at EARTH University, Costa Rica. EARTH University offers a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on natural resource management and social entrepreneurship. EARTH University provides an innovative curriculum focused on leadership, agricultural study, and community development to emerging young leaders to enable them to confront the social and environmental challenges of their home countries in tangible and socially responsive ways.
