Australian Government - PhD Awards in Agricultural Research for Africans

Deadline: 30 April 2012

The Australian Government is offering 20 PhD-level Australia Awards (Scholarships) to candidates from eligible African countries for agriculture-related studies commencing in Australia in 2013. The scholarships are for study in Australia at an Australian university; however it is preferred that any field research is undertaken primarily in Africa.

 
Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Deadlines - August 2012

Deadline: 6 August 2012

This scheme strengthens scientific research capacity in low- and middle-income countries, by providing support for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Masters degree level. Research projects should be aimed at understanding and controlling diseases (either human or animal) of relevance to local, national or global health. We are particularly interested in requests for research training support in the social sciences, demography, health economics, medical statistics and vector biology.

 
Intermediate Fellowships for Researchers of All Nationalities

This scheme supports excellent scientists who wish to undertake high-quality research and to establish themselves as independent researchers in an academic institution in India. The total award for an Intermediate Fellowship typically amounts to INR 3.5 Crores. This includes the costs requested by the applicant as well as the set contributions by the India Alliance. Costs requested by the applicant must commensurate with their research proposal and should be fully justified in the full application. Inadequate justifications may result in costs being revised

 
Tanzanian-German Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Law Scholarship Program

Deadline: 15 April 2012

Applications are invited from candidates in East African Community (EAC) Partner States (i.e. Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda) for entry into a postgraduate study programme in law (LLM or PhD) offered by the Tanzanian-German Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Law. The scholarships cover university fees, the cost of living of 2,400/3,000 EUR per annum for Tanzanians/Non-Tanzanians and the cost of research up to a total of 500/3,000 EUR for LLM/PhD students. The LLM scholarship covers a period of one year, and the PhD scholarship a period of three years.

 
UK: Hong Kong Postgraduate Scholarship

The University of Birmingham is delighted to offer the Hong Kong Postgraduate Scholarship. This award is worth up to £15,000 towards the cost of tuition fees for a 1 year Masters course in any subject area.

 
University of Birmingham LLM scholarships for International Students

For 2012-2013 Birmingham Law School will be offering a range of scholarships to applicants for its taught LLM programmes. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. Applicants must already have applied for admission to the LLM degree. 

 
Edinburgh Global Online Distance Learning Master's Scholarship

The University of Edinburgh will offer 6 Master's scholarships for eligible distance learning Master's programmes offered by the University. Each scholarship will have a total value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study. The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent. 

 
Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust Africa Scholarships: Full-fee Scholarships

Loughborough University is delighted to announce full-fee scholarships for international full-time taught postgraduate students who are currently domiciled (permanently living) in Africa. The scholarships will cover 100% of the course fees for your chosen postgraduate taught course for one year. The scholarships are being funded through a combination of generous external funding and University funds. The University will award a limited number of scholarships and the standards required are very high. Students will be expected to fund their travel and maintenance costs through other sources

 
Loughborough University: DFID / Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme

Loughborough University is a participating University in the Shared Scholarship Scheme.  For entry in 2012, two full fee and maintenance scholarships are available. The awards are jointly sponsored by the Department for International Development and Loughborough University. This scheme is intended to help students from developing commonwealth countries to undertake a one year taught Masters degree. The degree must be related to the economic and social development of the scholar’s home country.
