Dissertation Fieldwork Grants are awarded to aid doctoral or thesis research. The program contributes to the Foundation's overall mission to support basic research in anthropology and to ensure that the discipline continues to be a source of vibrant and significant work that furthers our understanding of humanity's cultural and biological origins, development, and variation. The Foundation supports research that demonstrates a clear link to anthropological theory and debates, and promises to make a solid contribution to advancing these ideas.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) and Scholarships for International Research Fees
Deadlines - August 2012

Deadline: 31 August, 2012

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia. Application for a scholarship is also an application for admission to the University. The purpose of the IPRS and the UWA SIRF scheme is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas in which the University has specialised research strengths and to support Australia's research effort. Successful applicants can expect to become members of a research team working under the direction of senior researchers and in an area which has attracted external resources.

 
Heriot-Watt University: Schlumberger Women into Science, Technology and Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship

Deadline: November Annually

Heriot-Watt is keen to attract women into the rewarding and challenging worlds of Engineering and Physical Sciences, therefore 3 scholarships of £1,500 per annum are made for female students. The awards are for those normally resident in the UK or another European Union country and the University reserves the right to give priority to specific subjects. Continued satisfactory performance must be demonstrated. These scholarships are available for second year students and above

 
Al-Maktoum College Scholarships Programme for Postgraduate International Students

Deadline: Mid-August Annually

The Al-Maktoum College seeks to promote its innovative and unique postgraduate programmes in the study of Islam and Muslims. The College is offering Partial Scholarships for eligible international and home/EU students registering on the taught/research programmes at the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education. Current students in the taught programme at the Al-Maktoum College may be eligible to apply for the Partial Scholarships, if they wish to continue their study to PhD level.

 
Research Grants for Doctoral Candidates and Young Scientists and Academics
Deadlines - September 2012

Deadline: 30 September each year

Research grants provide young foreign academics and scientists with an opportunity to carry out a research project or a course of continuing education and training at a German state (public) or state-recognised higher education institution or non-university research institute. Applications for DAAD research grants are open to excellently-qualified university graduates who hold a Diplom or Master's degree at the time they commence the grant-supported research and, in exceptional cases, graduates holding a Bachelor's degree or already holding a doctorate/PhD (post-docs)

 
MDI/SIDA Fee Waiver Scholarships MA in Diversity and the Media for Egyptian students

Deadline: 31 May 2012

These are funded by the Media Diversity Institute (MDI) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and cover the full cost of overseas tuition fees for the MA in Diversity and the Media of the University of Westminster starting in September 2012. Students will need to be able to meet their own living costs. The deadline for scholarship applications is 31 May 2012. In order to be eligible, before applying for the scholarships applicants should be already holding an offer of a place on the course. Deadline for applications for a place on the course is 31 March 2012

 
Colt Foundation Fellowships in Occupational/Environmental Health 2013

Deadline:  15th October 2012

The Foundation awards Fellowships each year to persons who are qualified in science or medicine who are carrying out research within the area of occupational and environmental health at a UK university. The Fellowship is expected to lead to a PhD degree. Prospective students should apply to Mrs Jackie Douglas, address below, including an outline of the proposed research which demonstrates the occupational content of their work, a CV, a detailed letter of support from the proposed supervisor and the contact details of two referees. The application must be submitted by the student personally and not by their supervisor on their behalf.

 
NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY: Overseas Research Scholarship (ORS) for International Students, 2012

IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for Students from Developing Countries, 2012

IDRC offers these awards twice a year to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing their doctoral studies at a Canadian university. These awards are intended for field research in one or more developing countries. Candidates must conduct their research in areas corresponding to IDRC's research priorities.
