Financial Benefits:
The UNIL Masters Scholarship 2025 offers a partial funding opportunity, providing CHF 1,600 per month from 15 September to 15 July (10 months per year) for the entire duration of the Master’s program, which can be 1.5 to 2 years depending on the program. Note: The following programs are not covered by the scholarship:
- Master from the School of Medicine
- Master of Education
- Master of Law (Universities of Zurich and Lausanne)
- Master of Criminal Law (Magistracy specialization)
- Master of Science in Physical Education and Sports Didactics
- Master of Science in Health Sciences
- All MASs (PhD programs)
For the Master of Law, only the specializations in “International and Comparative Law” and “Legal Theory” are eligible for the scholarship.
Required Documents:
To apply for the UNIL Masters Scholarship, applicants must submit the following documents:
- Completed and signed application form
- Passport-sized photo (in JPEG format)
- Copy of secondary school diploma (with certified translation if not in French, German, English, or Italian)
- Bachelor’s Degree Certificate
- Program description for the final semester of the Bachelor’s degree (if not yet obtained)
- Updated CV
- Cover letter
- Two original recommendation letters (sealed)
- Language proficiency certificate (TOEFL or IELTS for English, DALF or DELF for French); minimum B2 level required
- Copy of passport or ID card
- Proof of payment of CHF 200.00 application fee
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the UNIL Masters Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a foreign university degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s at UNIL before the start of the Master’s program
- Have an outstanding academic record
- Meet the language proficiency requirements (at least B2 in French or C1 in English)
- Not be registered at UNIL
- Pay the CHF 200.00 application fee

How to Apply for UNIL Masters Scholarship:
To apply, candidates must complete an application for admission to the Master’s program through the Admissions Department (SII). The completed application, along with all required documents, should be sent by post to the following address:

The application must be completed on a computer and signed by the candidate. The application for the Master’s scholarship also serves as an application for admission to the chosen Master’s program at UNIL.
