Introduction
CREATE PhD Scholarship Programme 2025 for African Researchers – The CREATE PhD Programme offers 25 doctoral fellowships to health professionals registered with UK professional bodies, who will enroll in a PhD program at one of the five UK Partner Institutions and conduct research at one of the six African Partner Institutions. Additionally, an equal number of fellowships will be offered to candidates based in African partner countries (Uganda, The Gambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia). These fellows can choose to register for their PhD either in their home country or at one of the UK partner institutions. All fellows are expected to spend approximately two years in the African partner country conducting their research.
UK-recruited fellows will be paired with African PhD fellows based in the same country, fostering a collaborative south-north cohort. All CREATE PhD Programme fellows will have access to extensive supervisory support, training, and mentorship offered by the Programme.
