Italian Government MAECI Scholarships 2024/2025. The Italian Government is now accepting applications for the MAECI Scholarships for International Students for the 2024/2025 academic year. These fully funded scholarships, provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), are available for international applicants who do not reside in Italy and for Italian nationals living abroad (IRE). Scholarships are available for master’s, Ph.D., Italian language studies, research, and higher education courses in art, music, and dance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: International students not residing in Italy or Italian citizens living abroad (IRE)
  • Age Limits:
    • Master’s degree or Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programs and Italian Language and Culture Courses: Under 28 years
    • Ph.D. Programs: Under 30 years
    • Research Projects under Academic Supervision: Under 40 years
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Italian-Taught Courses: Minimum B2 level in Italian (CEFR)
    • English-Taught Courses: Minimum B2 level in English (CEFR) or proof of prior education in English
    • Advanced Italian Language and Culture Courses: Minimum A2 level in Italian (CEFR)
    • Ph.D. Programs and Research Projects: No language proficiency proof required

Types of Available Programs

  1. Master’s Degree: 9 months of study. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree.
  2. Higher Education Courses in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM): 9 months of study. Applicants must meet entry requirements and academic qualifications of the AFAM Institute.
  3. Ph.D. Programs: 9 months of study. Applicants must meet university entry requirements and provide a letter of admission.
  4. Academically Supervised Research Projects: Conducted at Italian Research Institutions or recognized universities.
  5. Advanced Italian Language and Culture Courses: 3 months of study. Students must be enrolled in an Italian course at a university or an Italian Cultural Institute.
