World Bank Graduate Scholarships 2024-2026. The World Bank Group (WBG), in collaboration with the Japanese Government, offers the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) for students from developing countries. This fully funded scholarship is a great opportunity for students to pursue their master’s degrees in various development-related fields at 52 participating master’s programs across 27 universities in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan.

Note: Applicants are responsible for visa costs, family member expenses, extra course fees, language training, travel during studies, resident permit fees, and educational equipment such as computers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a national of a developing country that is a World Bank member.
- Not have dual citizenship of any developed country.
- Be healthy.
- Have obtained a university degree at least three years before the application deadline.
- Have at least three years of working experience in development-related areas.
- Be employed in a full-time paid position in a development-related role.
- Applied and obtained an unconditional offer from one of the JJ/WBGSP’s preferred university master’s programs outside the applicant’s home country.
- Not be World Bank staff or family members of World Bank staff.
Commit to returning to their home country after completing the program.
Application Procedures
- Select Your Program: Choose one or more of the JJ/WBGSP programs.
- Prepare Required Documents:
- CV
- Proof of employment
- Certificate of the most advanced university degree earned
- Two professional recommendations
- Unconditional letter from one or more of the preferred programs
- Submit Application: Apply to the chosen university. If shortlisted, the university will invite you to apply for the JJ/WBGSP scholarship.
